I’m a firm believer in doing what makes you happy. If you want your face frozen, zero judgment. Do it! Personally, I like to look like me, just with a Paris filter. You know, that Instagram swipe that makes things a little softer and less high-def? That’s what I told my dermatologist the first time I decided I was ready for Botox.

That was 10 years ago. And I’ve never let another derm touch my face since.

I went in feeling like I just looked a little tired. I left feeling old AF.

I was nervous to try Botox for the first time. But working in fashion and TV, the pressure to look picture-perfect at all times made me feel like I needed it. I was constantly battling two fears: looking old vs. looking like everyone else (it was peak Kardashian-face era in LA).

After chatting with two of my close friends in the beauty industry, I finally decided to go for it, but only with Dr. Jessica Wu.

Yes, she does celebrities. And yes, she’s featured in just about every magazine and is a regular on the news. But that’s not why I wanted to see her. The women I knew who went to her all said the same thing: she specialized in making you look like you, just fresher. Exactly what I was looking for.
