I wasn’t kidding when I said I love black for summer. And I love it even more as a mom with a toddler who somehow stains my outfits daily. I usually lean towards flowy linen pants or joggers (like we did in a styling sesh last month). But I wanted a more polished pair in my closet. I found them in these:
today’s staple: black linen pants
Why I love these from Banana Republic ($150):
High rise covers my belly button
Flattering wide leg
Invisible back zip for a smooth front and sides
Machine washable!
I did a 4 petite so I can wear them with flats (I’m 5’3 ½ for reference).
I made it easy to shop each outfit in my Substack ShopMy. You can search by each Styling with Sydne session. Here’s today’s:
This is probably my fave way to wear the pants. It gives the look of a jumpsuit but with separates (way easier for sizing, especially if you’re pear shaped like me). This is an old linen shirt I had. The blacks aren’t an exact match but the black woven belt hides that (and cinches the waist without chopping up the body).
Same shirt, just worn open like a lightweight jacket. This is the cropped version of my fave ribbed tank we talked about the other week. Such a good layering piece!
Since I’m on the petite side, the oversized trend can drown me fast. So when I wear a top untucked over pants, I make sure it’s super lightweight, like this white linen button-up. I hope these last two looks show black can totally feel beachy!
Our styling sessions go deeper after the paywall. Here’s what’s below this week:
