After back to back black, we’re flipping to the opposite this week. And what better weekend to talk about white pants than the official start of summer? I actually have these pants in black too… and a bunch of other colors. White is my newest addition.
today’s staple: white cropped pant
Why I love these from Anthropologie ($120):
A few notes about fit:
The magic fabric version runs pretty true to size. I used to be a size 25 (still fit, but tight). Now I wear a 26.
Since they’re cropped already, I don’t need petite. They only had petite in the white leather last year, so I grabbed that then. But I prefer the length on regular (I’m 5’3 ½ for reference).
The leather versions run a bit tighter. Not sure about the rest… yet. The denim ones are next on my list.
I made it easy to shop each outfit in my Substack ShopMy. You can search by each Styling with Sydne session. Here’s today’s:
This is how I wear my Colettes the most: with a simple tee. They’re so high-waisted you can do a cropped tee and skip the tuck. My happy hat makes my son smile, which makes me smile. A striped long-sleeve tee over the shoulders makes me feel sporty chic instead of just sporty.
This is actually an old shirt dress I wear open as a lightweight jacket. I threw it over my favorite inexpensive ribbed tank and really didn’t feel like it needed anything else. With all the long lengths, I do like a little height, so these block heel sandals are perfect (and insanely comfy).
I keep trying to add color into my outfits for my son. But honestly, I’ll probably wear this combo more with my navy or white tank, like I did in other sessions. I’m trying! The oversized button-down over a ribbed tank has been my go-to lately. It’s easy for chilly mornings and warm afternoons. When it gets hot, I tie it around my waist for a little cinch.

Our styling sessions go deeper after the paywall. Here’s what’s below this week:
